Boom Barriers & Parking Automation
Parking and vehicle entry points need fast, reliable control of each lane. A boom barrier raises a boom arm on command from a remote, RFID reader, ticket system or guard button, and lowers it safely once the vehicle has cleared.
What the automation has to do
- Open fast enough for the lane traffic — under a second for toll and busy commercial lanes.
- Never lower the boom onto a vehicle (loop detector or photocell).
- Integrate with RFID, ANPR, ticketing or guard-house controls via dry-contact inputs.
- Survive continuous high-cycle use with minimal maintenance.
What to measure on site
- Lane width (boom length 3–6 m)
- Vehicles per hour at peak
- Headroom (straight vs folding boom)
- Integration required: RFID, ANPR, loop detectors, ticketing
- Power and cable routes to the barrier foundation

Boom Barriers & Parking Automation: common questions
Servo or DC brushless barrier?
The servo barrier (CSEDZ103S) opens in 0.9 s and is rated for 10 million cycles — the choice for toll and high-throughput commercial lanes. DC brushless barriers (CSDZS10 at 0.9 s, and the no-spring CSEDZ40) are rated for 5 million cycles and suit parking, residential complexes and campuses.
Do you supply the parking management system?
Rollvento supplies the barrier hardware with standard dry-contact control inputs and a GSM/remote option. Parking management software, ticketing and ANPR are integrated by system partners through those inputs.
