What is a automatic door operator?

An automatic door operator is a header-mounted drive that opens pedestrian doors on demand from a motion or presence sensor. Sliding operators move one or two glass leaves along a track; swing operators rotate a hinged leaf. They are rated by leaf weight and include safety sensors and battery-backed emergency operation.

How to choose a automatic door operator

Sliding operators suit most commercial entrances; swing operators are used for single doors, corridors and accessibility retrofits.
Specify leaf weight and clear opening width; capacity is quoted per leaf.
Healthcare and egress doors need battery backup and fire-alarm breakout integration.
Choose sensors for the environment: microwave for approach detection, infrared presence sensors for safety in the threshold.

Installation

Installation notes

The header is fixed to the structural lintel; glass leaves hang from the carriage on the track.
Sensors are mounted on the header and aimed per the sensor manual; the safety zone must cover the full leaf travel.
Commissioning sets opening speed, hold-open time and reduced-opening mode.

Installation is carried out by authorised Rollvento dealers and installers. Wiring diagrams and sizing support are available from technical support.
