  • Industrial doors

  • The door must be correctly spring-balanced before the motor is fitted; the motor is not designed to lift an unbalanced door.
  • Direct-drive units slide onto the torsion shaft and are keyed; a torque arm prevents the motor body from rotating.
  • Backplate units are bolted to the wall or door frame and connected to the shaft sprocket with a roller chain.
  • Limits are set on the mechanical cam or programmed electronically at the open and closed positions.
  • The emergency hand chain is routed to be reachable from the floor; a chain-engaged interlock cuts power while manual mode is active.
FAQ

GK100: frequently asked questions

Where is the GK100 used?

Typical applications: Industrial doors.

How is an industrial door motor different from a rolling shutter motor?

Industrial door motors mount directly on the door’s torsion shaft and are rated by torque (N·m) for spring-balanced sectional and rolling doors. Rolling shutter motors are side-mounted chain drives rated by curtain weight (kg) for unbalanced steel shutters.

What torque do I need?

Torque depends on door weight, drum diameter and balance. A rule-of-thumb starting point is (unbalanced weight in kg × 9.81 × drum radius in m), then apply a safety margin. Rollvento engineering can calculate this from your door dimensions.
